Winter Park Florida Paint Out Announced!

Application deadline for entry is Saturday, November 1st, 2014, Midnight ET

The Winter Park Paint Out is a JURIED event. We encourage all plein air artists over the age of 18 to apply, and welcome both local and out-of-state participants. The Selection Committee will review all applications and choose 25 artists to participate in the 2015 event. Top revenue-generating artists from 2014 are invited back to join the 2015 event. Notification results will be sent to each applicant via email no later thanNovember 15, 2014. An Artist Agreement form and housing information for out-of-town artists will be physically mailed to those who have been accepted.

Artists will be selected based on their:
•       Artistic merit and skill exhibited in 3 submitted plein air images
•       Application materials
•       Ability to represent the Polasek and City of Winter Park, Orlando, and the state of Florida through their plein air art
•       Commitment to support the Paint Out with their time and involvement during the entire week of the event

Artists will be required to submit three (3) recent plein air images, an artist statement, a short bio and an active link to their website.

Please Note: Applications must be emailed and received no later than Saturday, November 1st, 2014, Midnight ET. No late entries or other formats will be considered. Letters or materials sent via US Mail or hand delivered will not be accepted.

About the Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens: The Albin Polasek Museum and Sculpture Gardens, located at 633 Osceola Avenue, Winter Park, FL 32789, is open Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Sunday 1– 4 p.m. Admission fees are charged as follows: adults (18-59) $5; seniors (60+) $4; students (age 12 through college) $3; members and children age 12 and under are free. Founded in 1961, the Albin Polasek Museum and Sculpture Gardens holds an art collection focusing primarily on American representational sculpture, with over 200 works by Czech-born American sculptor Albin Polasek. The museum also offers guided tours of the historic Polasek residence and chapel, an outdoor sculpture garden and a gift shop. The museum is the retirement home of 2004 Florida Artists Hall of Fame recipient Albin Polasek, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is one of only 30 members of the National Trust’s Historic Artists’ Homes and Studios.
