Plein Air Workshop In One of The Most Beautiful Places In The Country!

The Sedona Arts Center and Mountain Springs Cabins will be hosting a 5 day Plein Air Painting expedition to beautiful waterfalls, Blue Ridge and Smoky Mountain panoramas and the vast Biltmore estate, as well as an evening excursion to the nearby Asheville River Arts District for food, touring and camaraderie.

David Santillanes will lead this workshop in Plein Air Painting teaching his methods and process for achieving depth and effective composition using all of these motifs. Evenings will allow for some group critique of the day’s work. Demonstrations and individual attention while painting will round out this five-day immersion.

Asheville is one of the best small art cities in the US with top producing galleries and an entire district dedicated to the arts. There is something for everyone in Asheville and almost every medium is represented. Artists draw inspiration from the culture downtown, through the local history, to the beauty of nature all around us. From old barns in country fields, to winding rivers and streams, to layers of blue mountains on the horizon, this is a Plein Air Painters paradise!
