June 15-21, 2015
The Saginaw Art Museum and partnering organizations seek plein air painters to participate in the first Great Lakes Bay Plein Air Festival! The Great Lakes Bay Region includes Saginaw, Midland and Bay Counties.
The Great Lakes Bay Plein Air Festival celebrates the art of plein air painting and the beauty of the Great Lakes Bay Region. The festival has four categories of artist involvement: Invitational, Juried, Open and Student. Participating artists will be featured in exhibitions at the Saginaw Art Museum and participating venues.

Juried Class
Registration is open to all artists, 18 years and older, currently residing in the State of Michigan.
The entry fee is $60.00 ($50.00 for SAM members). Applicants will be juried into this class. Accepted artists will paint on location in the Great Lakes Bay Region between June 15 and June 21and will be eligible to submit up to three pieces for awards and exhibition. Artists will have opportunities to sell artwork with no commission fees. Cash prizes for juried class totals more than $5,000.

Invitational & Juried Class Exhibition at the Saginaw Art Museum: July 16-October 17, 2015

Open Class
Registration is open to all artists, 18 years and older, currently residing in the State of Michigan. The entry fee is $35.00 ($25.00 for SAM members). All entrants will be accepted into the open class. Any entrants not accepted into the juried class will automatically be entered into the open class. Artists will paint on location in the Great Lakes Bay Region between June 15 and June 21. Open class artists will be eligible to submit up to three pieces for jurying into Open Class exhibition and awards. Artists may have the opportunity to have artwork displayed at other venues and to sell artwork throughout festival. Cash prizes for open class totals more than $1,000.

Open Class Exhibition at Saginaw Art Museum:June 26-August 29, 2015

Student Class
Registration is open to students ranging in age from 15-22, who are currently enrolled in high school or college with a valid student ID and currently residing in the State of Michigan. The entry fee is $15.00. All entrants will be accepted into the student class. Artists will paint on location in the Great Lakes Bay Region between June 15 and June 21. Student class artists will be eligible to submit up to three pieces for awards and exhibition. Artists will have the opportunity to sell artwork with no commission fees. Cash prizes for student awards totals $450, sponsored by the Martineau Family Foundation.
Entry Deadline: June 1, 2015
Student Class Exhibition at the Andersen Enrichment Center: June 22-August 14, 2015
