Janet Kohler

Janet Kohler received her BFA from the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Mi and her MFA from Eastern Michigan University. She teaches figure and portrait drawing and painting, color mixing with pastels and Plein-Air painting classes through the Ann Arbor Art Center. She has taught numerous workshops in Drawing the Figure and Landscape Painting; as well as Drawing at Washtenaw Community College and Drawing workshops at the University of Michigan Museum of Art.
Janet’s pastels and oils have been exhibited nationally and internationally and are included in many corporate and private collections. She’s received many honors and awards, recently an Honorable Mention in the Great Lakes Pastel Society exhibition as well as 1st place in the pastel category through Kennedy Promotions, Best Of Michigan Artists & Artisans 2007. Janet exhibits locally with the Ann Arbor Women Painters and the Ann Arbor Area Pastelists.
